Wild Reckless by Ginger Scott

Y’all!!!  It is FINALLY here!!  No!  Not St. Patrick’s Day!  Wild Reckless, Ginger Scott’s new addition to the YA field comes out today!  So in celebration, I will post my review and teasers throughout the day.  Guys, you do NOT want to miss out!  Truly a great read!Wild reckless Review Tour

Ginger Scott’s latest foray into the YA genre is possibly her best yet.  Told from the point of view of Kensington “Kensie” Worth, Scott examines how one incident can define our life, and not exactly in a positive way.  From the time senior Kensie Worth moves to town, she is drawn to her neighbor, Owen Harper, but their interactions are far from positive.  Owen is the town hoodlum, at least that’s what the rumors say and he seems to relish in proving those rumors true to Kensie, with every chance he gets.  Kensie is never one to stand up for herself, always the dutiful daughter, the good girl; when she is around Owen, however, he brings out the fighter in her that she didn’t know existed.   Kensie is scared of the darkness that Owen radiates, however, one incident that shatters her life, brings them in to each other’s path more and more, and Kensie begins to see that there may actually be more light than darkness in Owen Harper.

I can’t tell you how much I absolutely ADORED this book, and I am a total Reed/Nolan junkie.  Kensie/Owen just surpassed that.  This is definitely not a light book.  The prologue jumps right in to that darkness that Owen is shrouded in and it doesn’t look back.  I felt this book was very realistic.  There is no part of this book that I did not enjoy!  It was well written, the characters are great, the plot flowed smoothly and had a realistic arc to it.  In this book Scott discusses mental illness, addiction and suicide and how the actions of members of our family can influence our own actions well into the future, and if we allow it, those actions can actually destroy us.
